To us Lolliladies, this is the element that really makes an event have the detail and custom factor we strive for. It is often one of the elements that really ‘wow’s the guests. For this Parisian baby shower, we thought that having whimsical circus posters strewn throughout the event would add to the festive feel..

We love having hidden stationery surprises around the event, and pay special attention to every catering tag, dessert tag, drink flag, favor tag, and sign. Each one is customized to the client which makes them feel extra special on their big day.

Because the event was to celebrate bringing baby girl Genevieve into the world, our client fell in love with the ‘ABC’ alphabet card invitations we had done for another client. The vintage circus feel of the invitations fused with the alphabet cards these were the perfect combination for the style of the event. After softening the color palette and doing some custom design tweaks, they were stamped, sealed and sent to all of the excited guests!

When planning your wedding, you will find a plethora of talented vendors out there, especially when looking for your stationery. Do you remember this dazzling duo in which we had the opportunity to design their Palm Springs wedding from start to finish. We get so excited when we get to do both the wedding styling and the stationery to tie all of the design elements together. It is one of the unique aspects about our team at Lollipop Events & Designs!

What made this even more fabulous is that we were able to hand illustrate a few aspects of their wedding. We had a blast hand illustrating their love story onto the ceremony programs! Can you see the similarities down to her ring?

We often are contacted and asked if we hand illustrate, so over the next few weeks we will be showcasing some of our invitations and other stationery in which we have gone back to the time honored art of hand illustration. I think we can get lost in the sea of graphics and clip art which can be fabulous, but nothing is as custom as a custom illustration!

We at Lollipop love pulling inspiration directly from our brides and grooms, but not just in the traditional ways. For one of our brides we’re currently working with we designed these save the dates that included a southern bbq feel to them and included a custom designed hand illustrated font and illustrations of their very own tattoos! Their last names start with P & S so they have the Blues Clues Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper tattoos on each others ankles, we thought that was just too cute to pass up!

For these ultra chic and sophisticated Save the Dates we wanted to achieve a level of luxury while still having fun. The gorgeous textured cream card stock was set off by intricate silver foiling of a baroque bold pattern and a modern large typeface. The same baroque pattern was also repeated in a light transparency onto the dark chocolate brown belly band along with silver foiled accents.

Photography: Sarah Yates

What made these Save the Dates so unique was the way it was read. To add a level playfulness about it we created a vertical belly band that covered all of the event information below. When the recipient held the piece in their hand they read “SAVE” from the foiling on the card and then on the belly band it read “your memories for toasting”, “your voice for laughing” and “your feet for dancing”. Then when the belly band was removed you would read the entire title of “Save the Date”. How about some other fun ideas you could translate this design into? Like “SAVE: Water…drink champagne!”

You may have seen a glimpse of this wonderful Western wine trolley wedding on Style Me Pretty. This week we will be featuring all of the design details from this multi-location event! San Luis Obispo held a special place in the heart of this couple, they wanted a rustic wine trolley wedding on the coast of central California, and their save the date invitations set the tone for the festive day to come. We started by designing the front of the invitation to look like a country western music poster pronouncing the big bash!

Photography: Sarah Yates

The back of the invitation provided a fun map of the details to come with twists and turns and an eclectic mix of typography. No detail was left unturned, even the envelope had a large horse shoe with the love birds perched upon it.

Tune in the rest of the week for details of the wedding invitations, the latin style rehearsal dinner, photos of the ceremony, lunch stop and the reception!

This utterly unique couple wanted to showcase their personalities and individualism through their invitations. They gave us complete creative freedom! We created a skull design out of icons that represented both of them individually, and together. The Groom loves: His Italian heritage, being a musician in his band, music, mustaches, pizza, beer, and his bride-to-be! The Bride loves: Her Mexican heritage, being a hair stylist, margaritas, tacos, maracas, Mickey Mouse and her groom-to-be! Their actual tattoos were incorporated in the design and their initials took the place of the teeth underneath the handlebar mustache.

We hand sewed buttons for eyes and laced blue and red string around the invite and around the eyes for the closure. Who says you have to tone down your true colors for your special day? Staying true to who you are and letting your personalities shine through is very cool, chic and oh so Rock n’ Roll!
