Yesterday we showcased Part I of Noaki’s inspiration to creation, which showcased the design process of the coral colored part of her Spring collection. Another part of her stunning Spring collection included moodier muted baby blues and icier tones.

We asked Noaki of Noaki Jewelry to walk us through her inspiration for these beautiful blues on the seashore. “I also became obsessed with sea glass and quiet glow of moonstone.”

“This collection was all about muted colors, corals, yellows, blues and moonstones. “

One of the first things we noticed between Noaki’s Spring inspiration and creation was the similarity between the dramatic Alice in Wonderland photograph and the style of photography she chose for her photo shoot. Choosing the right photographer to capture your work is one of  the most important finishing touches, so we asked her about choosing the talented John Schnack as her photographer.

“I actually fell in love with John’s work after seeing the “Wild Seaside Garden” shoot he did with you all that appeared on Ruffled. It was so detailed, delicate, atmospheric and I just loved how muted the colors were. (And, of course, he had amazing material to work with.

I’d wanted for some time to work with a photographer on a really simple shoot…a girl in a lovely dress walking through some tidepools with some fabulous jewelry and a bouquet. I really wanted something that would be very California, atmospheric and hint at a stolen moment with a bride before or after her wedding.
And after seeing John’s work, I was just really so so impressed. His photos strike an interesting balance between being dramatic and yet unpretentious at the same time. There is a real photo journalist touch.

He really just seemed like the perfect person to work with on this concept and he was. He was so lovely to work with, so professional and fun and enthusiastic. Honestly any bride would be so lucky to have him at their wedding”

Noaki of Noaki Jewelry shared her creative process with us as well as what inspired her for her most recent collection. She takes us on her journey from her Inspiration to the actual Creation of her latest Spring Collection.

“Attached are some of the images that inspired me while I was putting together my Spring collection. I’m constantly inspired by what I notice in nature as well as images and memories from places I’ve lived.”

“My husband is really into gardening and this year we decided to completely redo our yard into mostly native plants and succulents. We spent a good bit of time at gardens in San Diego and a cactus nursery in Malibu, so I found myself thinking a good deal about muted colors with bright splashes of color, waves, sand and tidepools.”

I also fell in love with large flowers with rhinestones resting on their petals like raindrops and jeweled bridal crowns.

We can definitely see how the inspiration transformed into the creation, especially the ‘raindrops on flowers’ which was so brilliantly executed in the bouquet above. The coral Chanel dress on the reef is positively stunning with the bridal crowns. Noaki’s inspiration of the tidepools, waves, and muted colors turned into the creation of a stunning collection that reminds us of a springtime seaside goddess. Ethereal, elegant and unique.

Stay tuned for Part II of Noaki Jewelry’s inspiration to creation tomorrow.

You are not the bride who wants a winter wedding, sparkly jewelry or a giant princess gown with a structured updo to match. You just want to be a lovely springtime bride with a simple strand of pearls, possibly bare feet, and a gorgeously glowing face. You want your tousled tresses to frame your face and your dress to feel flowing and free. A touch of bohemian and understated glamour. You are a simple yet stunning springtime bride.

To obtain this look, buy a handmade Elizabeth Dye gown with a gauzy overlay and an empire silhouette. Then layer with a grey shell pearl necklace over a vintage creamy white pearl necklace. Wear understated makeup and unfussy hair. Be sure to have a perfectly painted pedicure so you can dance with bare feet!
