This season Chanel’s 2009 Spring Haute Couture runways were dripping with a fresh infusion of creativity, delicacy and femininity while turning the volume way up on the edge-o-meter.  All the while, staying true to their roots, Chanel has become the epitome of French sophistication. With their famous palette of black and white, these couture pieces were pumped up and adorned even further with the amazing paper flowers designed by Japanese hair stylist Katsuya Kamo.

“The idea was a white page” Lagerfeld said days before his show. With over 40 designers laboring for 2 weeks they succeeded to produce over 7,000 paper flowers, table cloths and decor transforming the former bank  into a 1930’s-eque nightclub. “Paper is my favorite material, Lagerfeld declared and ” Wanted everything graphic itself, no bling bling” Also according to the Chanel website, paper actually served as the inspiration for this collection, with Karl Lagerfeld quoted as saying “I love paper! Everything begins on paper. Without paper I would be lost!

Although Uncle Karl declared “no bling bling” this year, the classic sleek yet sophisticated style of Chanel can be transfused into other areas of decor such as this amazing chair that embodies the clean, soft lines and the classic quilting Chanel is known for. Pricey? Yes… but a girl can dream… these chairs would transform any event to a light and fluffy couture confection. Throw in Jennifer Lopez and Uncle Karl himself for inspiration, a few shameless logo plugs, delicate and dainty invitations and your (our) Chanel dream has come true.

For a soft compliment to the striking white, soft pinks and peaches flow beautifully… We especially love the anemones for a graphic juxtaposition of black and petal pink. And of course, a ballroom in a chateau in Paris couldn’t hurt for the venue, right?

Black and white, and even champagne, Love a little black in a wedding. The Chanel ruffles, very elegant and even a bit vintage, so lovely.
