We continue to be inspired by editorials in high fashion magazines, especially the spreads shot by fashion photographer Tim Walker. “London based photographer Tim Walker has established himself at the cutting edge of fashion photography. His images capture a sublime moment in time, evoking a sense of epic drama and beauty. Stunning sets and lavish locations juxtapose the everyday with the absurd and the fabulous, to create captivating, original photographs.” via Design Museum

We would love to bring the dreamy and lavish feel of these ‘Swan Lake’ couture photos by Tim Walker to a wedding. We are inspired to recreate it with romantic yet traditional tulle ball gowns layered with ruffles, ballerina bridesmaids, sparkling swarovski crystals, layers of dramatically draped fabric, and palette of creams, ivory, and shades of ice blue.

swan lake inspirationTo obtain this sensationally sparkling affair inspired by Tim Walker’s photos we would start with a ‘Winter Breeze fantasy cake’ layered with textured ruffles (YWD). Round toe ballerina-esque shoes (Rebecca Thuss) would be perfectly peeking out from underneath a tulle ball gown or a posh plumage wedding dress (Demitrios Bride & Jenny Lee Bridal) paired with sheer ruffled cuff tulle gloves and a  tulle fingertip veil. Tables would be set in shades of ice blue and ivory (kiss the groom) and topped with ceramic swan planters. A lush floral arch of blue heirloom hydrangeas and million star gyspophila would frame the entrance to the reception site (via brides.com )

Fabulous Idea: Instead of traditional bouquets give your bridesmaids glam clutches made out of florals and foliage (via YWD)

Recipe: Serve your guests ‘Seven Swans A -Swimming’ (photo top left & recipe via Martha Stewart)

oscar de la renta hair

We were also inspired by the runways of New York when Oscar de la Renta sent his models out in show-stopping hair. Braids crowned their heads with fabric woven throughout them. We would love to see this dreamy fashion-forward yet simple look worn by a bride! We can just imagine glossy braids woven with vintage lace for a “something old” which would be the perfect addition to this brilliantly ballet inspired fete.
