The Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collections and reviews came out this past week and we were extra dazzled and inspired by the collections from the following designers…

Naeem Khan ”called his look ‘punk Raj’, merging as it did his expertise in traditional beading and embroidery with a poufy and girly silohuette, with added tangles of crystal-and-chain jewelry. Think Bow Wow Wow meets Blair Waldorf.” – Meenal Mistry (full review here)

Marchesa, ”for Spring her reference was Madame Butterfly, which led in a straight line to the formal kimono wrapping of stiff satin gowns and flat, obi-esque folds. More obliquely, there was something of a set-design element to the very matte black and white dresses that almost looked as if they’d been cut out of paper.” - Meenal Mistry (full review here)

marchesaL’Wren Scott ”called  the collection Madame du Barry after the famed mistress of Louis XV, who, Scott explained, was an early adopter of pink. As she evolved that rosy palette, the frivolity and frou of Versailles merged with her precise line. Tilted, wide-brimmed hats immediately gave you Bianca Getting Married, and the coolly adrogynous glam-rock silhouettes set the early-seventies thought in place.” – Meenal Mistry (full review here)

We love the dark glam look of Naeem Khan’s collection and are drooling over how brilliantly it would translate into bridal gowns. We are also swooning over Marchesa’s straight lines and kimono origami gowns and gorgeous “gravity-defying” ruffled creations.  Finally, we are completely smitten with the sheath dresses accented by tilted hats in L’Wren Scott’s collection. We can just envision a sophisticated bride waving goodbye to her guests as she hops into a classic car and glamorously drives away to the airport for her honeymoon with a hatbox clutched by her side. Ahhh, where did that enchanting era go? All images and reviews via Style.com

These looks would work seamlessly and flawlessly as bridal fashions! What do you think?
