Fashion Report: Inspired by BONZIE
“BONZIE is an Independent Irish Fashion Label with romantic vintage appeal. Often using upcycled clothing, thrifted trinkets and vintage inspired fabric in an artful blend of tattered chic neovictorian, steampunk and deconstructed elements.” We at Lollipop instantly fell in love with their label and immediately wanted to find out more! Bonzie & Ger were kind enough to share their inspiration with us, the type of bride that serves as their muse and some photos of real brides wearing their stunning creations.
Tulle Skirt, Le Coquette Ruffled Scarf, Haunted Bloom, Ivory Tattered Corset, Fairytale
Rococco Tea Stain Bridal Wrap, Fallen Angel, Ethereal Ivory Couture Wrap, Ivory Ruffled Silk Courtesan Bolero, Ethereal Wrap, Deep Teal Dupioni Raw Silk Wrap, Swan Lake Ensemble
Now for some real brides…
“In general I would say that we draw inspiration from a Victorian Era, an age gone by, the passage of time. We tend to work in an antquated aesthetic but also like to introduce contemporary styles and silhouettes to bring them into todays world. Tea stain tulle, vintage lace, antique military buttons and tattered couture finish is synonomous with our label. I would describe our brand as an Independent Irish Design Label with Romantic Vintage Appeal, a Neo Victorian style with a couture edge.”
“We are also inspired by the steampunk genre as they draw inspiration from ye olde days too.”
“We like to imagine that our clients are gals who like to stand out in a crowd, somebody a little edgy and quirky perhaps. A bride with a bit of character who wants to provoke a reaction yet look elegant all at once.”
“A client once described our work as Hauntingly Beautiful and I love that terminology, it addresses the tattered, ghostly effect yet touches on the prettyness too. A juxtaposition of two seemingly opposite styles, yet they blend perfectly together.”

Simply stunning!!! So chic with undertones of an edgy punk vibe. I’m thinking Viviene Westwood but with a softer etheral flowiness. To die for!!

These are exactly my kind of inspirational photos…I have so many ideas for cakes after looking at them!
Gorgeous! I have never heard of BONZIE, and I’m glad you’ve brought it to my attention. Have a few really talented friends who are doing the up-cycling thing with clothing and I’m stoked to see how it translates in wedding fashion. Awesome. Would love to shoot that big tulle skirt in motion!
