“BONZIE is an Independent Irish Fashion Label with romantic vintage appeal. Often using upcycled clothing, thrifted trinkets and vintage inspired fabric in an artful blend of tattered chic neovictorian, steampunk and deconstructed elements.” We at Lollipop instantly fell in love with their label and immediately wanted to find out more! Bonzie & Ger were kind enough to share their inspiration with us, the type of bride that serves as their muse and some photos of real brides wearing their stunning creations.

Now for some real brides…

“In general I would say that we draw inspiration from a Victorian Era, an age gone by, the passage of time. We tend to work in an antquated aesthetic but also like to introduce contemporary styles and silhouettes to bring them into todays world. Tea stain tulle, vintage lace, antique military buttons and tattered couture finish is synonomous with our label. I would describe our brand as an Independent Irish Design Label with Romantic Vintage Appeal, a Neo Victorian style with a couture edge.”

“We are also inspired by the steampunk genre as they draw inspiration from ye olde days too.”

“We  like to imagine that our clients are gals who like to stand out in a crowd, somebody a little edgy and quirky perhaps. A bride with a bit of character who wants to provoke a reaction yet look elegant all at once.”

“A client once described our work as Hauntingly Beautiful and I love that terminology, it addresses the tattered, ghostly effect yet touches on the prettyness too. A juxtaposition of two seemingly opposite styles, yet they blend perfectly together.”

xx, Bonzie & Ger

Following is a fabulously inspiring wedding filled with an abundance of eye candy! Christine Chang Photography sent us photos of a ridiculously stylish bride and groom, Kristi and Anthony. The wedding was held this past weekend at Jefferson Street Mansion, built in 1861. The bride owns a jewelry company named diamond willow that incorporates feathers into the jewelry designs. She used her talents to create her peacock feather bouquet, boutonnieres, and flower hair pieces. She is inspired by her mother’s prim japanese side and her fathers rocker tendencies which was brilliantly showcased throughout the swanky, stylish wedding day.

The bridesmaids wore frilly Betsey Johnson dresses and jazzy golden rings with each of their names on them. They each clutched bouquets of baby’s breath and donned the most phenomenal platform cream heels. The bride herself wore bright lipstick cherry red heels, and carried a lacy fan and oversized peacock bouquet that almost lightly swept the floor. The many touches of textures displayed throughout the day created a glam effect flawlessly fused with rock n’ roll edge.

We love the mixture of tradition blended with the moody dark feel of the day. The bride successfully reflected and captured the style of herself, her family and the groom! How fabulous is the photo of the groom standing right next to the photo of Prince?! Look at the chic bridesmaid shoes peeking under the photo booth below!

The talented bride designed the centerpieces herself which included elements of rosemary. She then enlisted the help of sister, mom and friends to arrange and pot them into vintage cups. She wore a sample gown designed by Lian Carlo and had her mom alter the neckline and made it detachable for dancing!
