Eco Chic: Beautiful and Earth Friendly Designs
Filed Under Weddings | 7 Comments
Wow… these photos have definitely made it around the blogosphere starting early this week, but we could not hold ourselves back from posting them as well. There are no words to describe how stunning the following eco-chic photo shoot for the new online magazine utterly engaged is. The images designed by JL Designs below are not only flawless, but also showcase the talent and creativity behind an amazing dream team of designers who we have featured in the past including Stephanie Williams and the Sweet & Saucy Shop. The team was asked to design in a sustainable way, both easy on the wallet and the environment while maintaining style. This is what we should all keep in mind when designing these days! What we found so interesting about this shoot is that we have featured most of the designers at one point or another on our blog.
Part of what makes this design so inspirational yet attainable is that you can source the vases and decor from your own houses, grandma’s cupboard or the local vintage shops. Reinventing and reusing what is already manufactured decreases need for new production and waste! Creativity=Green
These amazingly chic dresses by Sarah Seven and Morgan Bozilkov are defintely not the hemp numbers you would imagine when hearing about natural organic and substainable materials, they defintely blew us away. Go here to see the complete post!

Classic Traditional Real Wedding…
The wedding above captures timeless classic to perfection… with the ceremony held at a cathedral in Illinois followed by an elegant dinner reception at a country club the day was filled with endless emotion and tradition. The father walked his lovely daughter down the aisle and gave her away with a handshake. Warm hugs & tears followed throughout the day as the bride wore a simple strand of pearls while clutching a tight white floral bouquet and the groom donned a classic black tuxedo. The stunning reception had elegant accents of lace and flourishes of classic metallic gold throughout the ballroom. Fabric draped elegantly from the ceiling, and simple favors were wrapped with a tight gold bow. The bride even walked down the classic fairytale winding staircase to see her father for the first time. See the entire wedding at Style Me Pretty photographed by the talented Jeffrey & Julia Woods.

Win a Free Save the Date!: Beach Casual Inspiration Board

Here is the fifth inspiration board in our series for our Free Save the Date Contest! Go here to enter! Breezy beach weddings evoke the feeling of sand between your toes, flip flops on your feet and wind in your hair. Infusing the color of sea-blue from the foamy surf and white from the puffy clouds floating above, beach weddings are typically casual affairs. They can be held on the sandy shores of a local beach or overlooking the seashore from a pier on an island far, far away… Infuse a variety of elements from blue glass bottles, two-tone causal cotton bridesmaid dresses and boats holding everything from candles to vintage coke bottles! Hold your loved one tight, dip your toes in the water and write your initials in the sand!

Look at this gorgeous and serene wedding set in North Carolina. Held on a deck overlooking the ocean, this couple perfectly captured a casual yet elegant feel. Dangling lanterns and lots of unfussy yet beach-worthy wicker details from fans to parasols set the tone for a beautiful day on the seashore. (via Style Me Pretty)
Beach weddings can also be glammed up a bit with a Nantucket Nautical and Cape Cod feel. Dress up the event with bright festive tables featuring a patriotic palette of red, white and blue and serve your guests a fun-filled lobster style clambake. Think cable knit, Kennedy’s, and Classic Coca-Cola for this Americana inspired beach affair. Wear a breezy vintage gown accented by bright red cherry lipstick and oversized Jackie-O sunglasses!
